How To Impress Potential Investors

Whether you’re looking for an angel investor or you’re opting for the crowdfunding route to obtain funds for your business, you’ll need to impress the potential investor or investors. After all, there are many thousands of small businesses out there who are looking to get the same investors to invest the same amount of money. You need to make sure you stand out for all the right reasons.

Explain Your Growth Potential

An investor is going to be interested in your business growth; this is how they are going to make a return on the money they have put into your business, and so it’s extremely important to them to be able to see the growth ideas that you have. This is especially true if you want them to invest a large amount of money, but even if it is a small amount, no one wants to lose the money that they have put in.

You will need to show your potential investor that there is a good market for the product or service that you are selling and that you will be able to find new customers as well as having previous customers come back to you.

Have A Good Business Plan

A business plan is essential if you want to attract an investor. This is where you will state your aims and goals for the company along with a timeframe if possible. You will also need to write down exactly how much money you need and what you intend to use it for. This information will help your investor make a decision because they will be able to see that you are serious and intent on making things successful.

It is also a good idea to show that your business is scalable if possible – this will instill even more confidence in your potential investor; they won’t want to put their money into a business that is going to reach a goal and then stay there because there is nothing else to do. For a business to be successful, there must always be the ‘next step’ up ahead.

Have A Good Team

If you have a team of employees, then you will need to show potential investors just how invaluable they are to the business. Each person must add something to the company as hiring people and paying them wages is expensive, and an investor may worry about the impact that staff will have on your profits.

If you can show that you are a great team who work together well, perhaps team building days in an Escape Room DC or learning woodland crafts would help to show how well you all blend together. This way you can allay their fears and be more likely to receive funding.

Have A USP

If you are one of many businesses, all are asking for the same money you will need to work on your USP to show that you are different and that you can do so much more. Your USP is your unique selling point; it’s a service you can offer that no one else does, making you more of a sure bet than other companies. It could be the product you sell or the way you handle your customer service or any number of other things.
